Bonnie Nussbickel, LMT, HHC, RYT, CPT
Bonnie is a Certified RajaHatha Yoga Teacher, NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Holistic Health & Nutritional Counselor, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She started her yoga journey while attending college. At first her focus was mainly on the asana practice. She realized that yoga helped her feel more balanced and grounded. As she worked on her body through asana, she became aware of her mind/body connection. This was the beginning of her path for personal growth and self exploration. “For years, yoga has been an integral part of my cross-training, enhancing my strength, flexibility, balance, and everyday mobility, while enabling optimal performance as an athlete. I feel that your mind can be your biggest critic, but it also can be your most powerful ally. Slowing down and listening allows us to plug in with our inner strength.” Her approach is strength, balance, compassion, and acceptance. She teaches that yoga is for everyone regardless of where they are. “We can all benefit from yoga, whether the quest is to deepen spirituality, become more flexible, heal from an injury, or gather with like-minded people. I am very passionate about yoga because it integrates all aspects of my personal and professional life."
Gabrielle Semel, RYT In 2004 Gabrielle began instruction under Amy Pearce-Hayden of the Yogascape in Carmel, NY. It was under Amy’s guidance of yoga asana and philosophy that Gabrielle began to see yoga as her lifestyle of choice. She explored a deep physical practice which increased her awareness of her own body, and was a tool for “opening” her body as well as her mind. In 2007 Gabrielle received her 200-Hour Teacher Training certification from the RajaHatha School of Yoga at the Yogascape. She finds teaching yoga to be a true learning experience that broadens her knowledge surrounding the complexity of the physical body, as well as enhances her ability to connect with other beings. She sees yoga as not only a practice, or a means to freedom, but also a language. “It is a language we can use to open the door to communication between our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. It is also a language with which all those who practice can share experience and growth.”Gabrielle’s intention as a yoga teacher is to share her experience with others, and to remain open, so that through her expression others may discover something new about themselves. Gabrielle is an avid nature lover. She is the mother of two amazing boys--Caleb and Nathaniel--who are her true teachers. She continues to teach in studio and fitness center settings, employee wellness programs, public schools, as well as embarking on some outdoor yoga adventures in her series of “Yoga in the Wild".
Terry Ariano, RYT has been practicing yoga for more than 30 years, and has been teaching for two years. Terry first practiced yoga techniques as part of the physical training to become an actor, and in the following years practiced many styles of yoga intermittently with many teachers. She resumed a regular practice around 1998, and began to see progress with overcoming ongoing back and neck pain. After beginning to practice with Amy Pearce Hayden in 2005, she felt a shift in her approach to yoga. Physical obstacles began to release, and she felt an expansive growth in her physical abilities, an increased stamina and pleasure in doing a more strenuous practice, and an awakening to the spiritual aspects of yoga. In early 2006 she discovered breast cancer, and throughout the subsequent surgery and treatment received much support and inspiration from yoga. “Yoga as a physical and spiritual practice has enriched and grounded my life. I can recognize yoga as present in every aspect of daily life, and am learning to integrate the philosophy on and off the mat. Yoga has allowed me to improve my attitude and outlook in life, and filled me with a purposeful goal to understand and accept the unchangeable in one's life, and to work at changing the things that one can."
As a teacher, I hope to impart a sense of possibility to those who come to learn
what works for them. I like to work with people who would not normally choose yoga as a physical practice, and help them understand how it can help them deal with and perhaps overcome physical infirmity. Also, Spirit and Nature are very important in my life, and I try to include imagery that allows people to draw inspiration and physical support from that source."
Anne Roberts, RYT
When Anne was first introduced to Amrit Yoga in 2005, she began to notice an inner peace and calm that she was not aware of before. This emergence of inner peace became evident in how she reacted to life situations. The shift became so profound that Anne decided to teach Yoga and trained at the Amrit Yoga Institute in Florida becoming a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher in 2007. Anne has previously taught at The Yoga Way, Kishna Yoga, and at her workplace. She is currently teaching at a gym and at her home Yoga studio where she shares the gift of Yoga to her neighbors and community. She has most recently attended ChildLight Yoga Teacher Training in Rhode Island and is now certified to teach children ages 3-11. Her draw to this is due to her strong belief in the importance that children receive the gift of self acceptance and self love at a very early age. Anne is enjoying this beautiful journey of self discovery and feels very blessed to be able to share this with others.
