Everybody's Yoga - TEACHERS
Everybody's Yoga - a place for bodies to be themselves

Cathy Stubbs, RN, LMT, RYT-500, Director, Everybody's Yoga

Cathy is a natural healer who trained in traditional medicine as an RN.  Additionally, she is a certified RajaHatha Yoga Teacher and a Licensed Massage Therapist (who cares for her massage clients upstairs at Inner Beauty Day Spa and at The Village Herbalist in Millerton, NY)  Her experience includes extensive Continuum practice and Jungian dreamwork study.  Cathy is certified in Yoga Nidra through Jennifer Reis of the Kripalu Center.  She became serious about studying yoga when she met Amy Pearce-Hayden at TheYogaScape, and she decided to pursue teacher certification in 2006.  In the fall of 2010, Cathy began her second level training for her 500 hour certification in the RajaHatha lineage at TheYogaScape. For Cathy, teaching gentle yoga is like offering a lifeline to people who are drowning.  She believes practice is a means for restoring our natural rhythm and for finding the compassion and courage to love ourselves the way we are right now, today.  She's happy to be a somatic educator with the group of strong committed teachers of Everybody's Yoga co-op where she is the Director.

Caroline Gomez, Certified Bodyflow Instructor, RYT-500

Caroline was first introduced to yoga in 1997 while pursuing her graduate degree in New York City and felt an immediate connection on a physical and spiritual level. However, as time passed, she allowed the demands of daily life take precedence and lost her connection with yoga.  Having felt for some time that there was a missing piece in her life, Caroline began exploring different spiritual paths, seeking something she could not name.  Unfortunately, all of these paths left her feeling boxed-in and labeled.

In 2004, Caroline reconnected with her asana practice but continued looking elsewhere to fill the spiritual void she felt.  However, from the moment Caroline met Amy Pearce-Hayden at The YogaScape and heard Amy's dharma talk she felt this could be the path to fill her spiritual needs.  Through Amy's guidance, Caroline found that yoga simultaneously satisfied and challenged her on a physical and mental level.  This desire to both deepen her knowledge of yoga philosophy as well as her physical practice led her to complete her 200-hour Teacher Training with Amy Pearce-Hayden at The YogaScape in Carmel, NY and become a certified RajaHatha Yoga Teacher.  Recently, Caroline completed her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Amy Pearce-Hayden at The Yogascape.

"Yoga has humbled me with the realization that I will be a student forever.  The path of Yoga has taught me how to listen, let go, be receptive and most importantly, how to trust again."

Bonnie Nussbickel, LMT, HHC, RYT-500, CPT

Bonnie is a Certified RajaHatha Yoga Teacher, NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Holistic Health & Nutritional Counselor, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer.   She started her yoga journey while attending college.  At first her focus was mainly on the asana practice.  She realized that yoga helped her feel more balanced and grounded.  As she worked on her body through asana, she became aware of her mind/body connection.  This was the beginning of her path for personal growth and self exploration. “For years, yoga has been an integral part of my cross-training, enhancing my strength, flexibility, balance, and everyday mobility, while enabling optimal performance as an athlete.  I feel that your mind can be your biggest critic, but it also can be your most powerful ally.  Slowing down and listening allows us to plug in with our inner strength.”

Her approach is strength, balance, compassion, and acceptance.  She teaches that yoga is for everyone regardless of where they are.  “We can all benefit from yoga, whether the quest is to deepen spirituality, become more flexible, heal from an injury, or gather with like-minded people.  I am very passionate about yoga because it integrates all aspects of my personal and professional life."  For more information please go to www.bonniewellness.com

Leslie Bernstein, CHHC, RYT, Herbalist

Leslie began her yoga practice twelve years ago in Brooklyn. She is a certified holistic health coach and a trained western medical herbalist. She has studied yoga with various teachers throughout NYC and nationally. Leslie moved to Kent, New York seven years ago and studied at Satsang Yoga with Charles and Lisa Matkin. She has been lucky to find her teachers just where she is. Leslie was thrilled to realize that one of her teachers, Amy Pearce-Hayden, was opening her own studio called The Yogascape. This would be her new found sanctuary for the next several years. Leslie found a true mentor in Amy Pearce-Hayden and a fresh way to bring all of her years of practice to fruition by completing her 200-hour teacher training.

Leslie's first experiences of yoga were so profound and healing that they permeated her everyday life.  The impact was strong enough to inspire her to communicate this enthusiasm and joy to others by becoming a teacher herself. “There is limitless potential proven when bringing the spirit, mind and body together.”   For more information please go to Lesliebernstein.com

Dana Lucas, RYT

Dana discovered yoga in 2000, when she was experiencing back pain as a young mother with two small boys.  She immediately experienced relief and, with time, learned that the benefits of yoga went far beyond improving her motion and the relief of back pain.  In challenging times, yoga has helped her to stay more grounded, focused and in touch with herself and others.  It has also helped her to manage stress and reduce the symptoms she experiences with Lyme disease.

Dana is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), who received her 200 hour teaching certification from Satya Yoga in 2007.  She has been happily sharing her joy and love of yoga ever since, teaching in a variety of settings throughout the Hudson Valley.

Dana focuses the content of her classes to meet the various needs of the individuals in order for them to fully receive the benefits yoga has to offer.  She takes the time to understand the needs and levels of experience of each of her students.  She offers modifications making her class fun and accessible for the beginner while allowing more seasoned students the chance to deepen their practice.  She offers group and private instruction.

Dana lives in LaGrange with her husband, two sons and her "girls" (otherwise known as her beloved free range hens).  When she isn't practicing yoga or tending to her "flock" Dana can be found working in her organic vegetable garden.

          Becca Roberts, RYT

Becca has been interested and aware of yoga since early childhood and began her journey in 2005, practicing Ashtanga & Iyengar yoga in New York City. Becca began exploring various styles of yoga and became a dedicated student in 2007 when she found Liberation Yoga, run by Adrea & Dave Robles. Becca practiced and began to develop her spiritual center and decided she wanted to teach others. During her exploration of teacher training, she met Amy Pearce-Hayden, director of The YogaScape & Spa. Becca took her 200-hour RajaHatha teacher training in 2009, which deepened her spiritual practice and developed her sense of self- awareness. This new awareness has led her to want to assist in the healing of others and guide individuals through their own path. Becca is currently expanding her studies to include self-healing modalities such as Reiki, Pre-Natal Yoga, and Yoga for Women Cancer Survivors.

 Anne Roberts, RYT

Anne teaches our 9-13 year old yoga group, going on their third year!  See a picture from the class here!

Anne began taking yoga classes in 2005 and soon embarked on a life-changing journey. She became a Level 1 certified yoga instructor through Amrit Yogi Desai at the Amrit Institute in Salt Springs, FL in 2007 and has been teaching ever since. Anne also became certified to teach yoga to children through Lisa Flynn at Childlight Yoga in Rhode Island, NY in 2009. She is passionate about sharing yoga with children, particularly ‘tweens’, as this is an integral time to reinforce self-love, self-respect, and kindness to others. This is the main focus of her children’s classes as well as her adult classes which are strongly centered on self-nurture, self-acceptance, and being in the present moment. Each posture has an active part of ‘doing’ or male essence and also a non-active part of ‘feeling’ or female essence, and one is no more important than the other. Her classes focus on ‘moving from the head to the heart’ and it is truly the practitioner’s time to take a break from the constant managing of life. Anne has recently studied Anusara Yoga at Kripalu Institute in Stockbridge, Mass, learning how to weave heart based themes into her classes. Her style is gentle, but can be more vigorous as both styles are guided in class. Anne is able to modify her guidance to meet each student at their level of practice. Anne believes the gifts of yoga come no matter how flexible one feels they ‘need to be’, and that anyone can benefit from this ancient practice. The practice only deepens for her and she is excited when students find their practice deepening as well.
